How to maintain a healthy relationship
Maintaining a healthy relationship with everybody around you is crucial in life. It is always better to have another friend than another enemy. Having a social life increases our life span and makes you a more joyful person.
Ways to maintain a healthy relationship:
- Honesty and communication
This is the Key to having a good relationship, being honest and expressing your feelings regularly will create a good bonding in the relationship and make the other person know you and understand you better. If you don’t express yourself how do you expect people to know something is bothering you , or what exactly makes you happy? Communicating with your partner/friend/family member is very important in order to keep a good relationship. Moreover, nobody likes interacting with an untruthful person.
- Always consider other people’s feelings and point of view
This is one very crucial thing which everybody should do, sometimes out of anger we are blinded and are unable to actually see our fault or the actual problem and thus we deal with it wrongly. Always attempt to walk in other people’s shoes, you cannot be 100% right without considering that the person’s view. Sometimes people’s perspectives can be vastly different from each other, so we must learn to accept other people’s perspectives.
-Accept others as they are
Tolerance is something that could stop arguments and wars. Nobody is perfect, sometimes you’ve just got to love other people’s good points and bad points. You could possibly find 100 things to hate about a person , yet you can probably find another 100 things to love about them. Always look at the good side of people and learn to accept their bad sides.
-Forgive and forget
Not a very easy thing to do, yet when you have learnt how to do so everything will seem much easier. Never forget that everybody makes mistakes including yourself, and surely you would want others to forgive you. Being angry for long does not only hurt yourself and your partner , but deeply harms your relationship. You’ve got to learn how to let go in order to grasp happiness.
-Appreciate and respect
Always appreciate and respect others, they will treat you the same. Respect other people’s decisions, thoughts and beliefs. Mutual respect is important for a good relationship.
- Listen
Sometimes you just have to shut the **** up and listen to what others have to tell you. As I said before you’ve got to accept and respect what others have to say, you might not like it but still. Perhaps you would only be able to see your own issues through other people’s eyes. By listening to others you open your self to a state of being able of upgrading yourself and others will be happy to see you take their words seriously into action.
- Don’t fight, negotiate
Everyone argues at one point or another, it’s a part of a relationship. Sometimes arguements strengthen your relationship, but when you start saying hurtful things to the other person just because you guys are fighting, then you are heading the wrong way. Always learn to tackle problems as soon as possible and think before you say, everything could be solved it just depends how you approach it.
- Always be positive
I recently found this very helpful in all my relationships. Staying postive not only gives others a welcoming feeling and cheers people to some extend but also inspires others to be happier and avoids arguments rising. If one person did something bad to you yet straight away apologizes and sincerely feels bad and wants your forgiveness, why stay mad? By being positive , you see the good of the situation and the people around you.
Being positive is always good, not just for relationships but for yourself.
