Why you should smile more
I always think having a smile on your face beats any sort of make up you could apply, or any sort of plastic surgery you could possibly want to get. No one looks bad with a smile and smiling actually has a lot of advantages for us.
Here are some reasons why we should smile more:
1) It obviously makes us look more attractive, approachable and convincing.
It is very rare that a person who frowns all the time would get much attraction from anyone, having the depressed look tends to push people away.
2) It lifts our mood
Smiling even when we don’t actually feel like it could actually be enough to partially cheer us up. It is referred to as the facial feedback hypothesis. Smiling could also de-stress us.
3) It makes us look younger
Did you know that if we constantly frown and don’t smile enough, our faces will eventually end up looking like a bulldog? Obviously not as cute as real bulldogs. This is because when we smile the muscles which we use lift our skin upwards – a natural face lift !
4) It’s a natural happy drug
Smiling releases endorphins, natural pain killers, and serotonin which make us feel good and content.
5)It keeps us healthy
Perhaps it’s the relaxed feeling we get when we smile that boosts our immune system and lowers our blood pressure. Does it not ever seem to you that most depressed people tend to get sick more often than happy people?
6) Smiling is contagious
It’s a form of politeness in a way yet actually we naturally start smiling when we see another person smile. Try looking at a photo of a person smiling, see how you feel and what your face does. Smile more to share happiness with your beloved ones and friends.
7) Longer lives
“The world always looks brighter from behind a smile. “
A recent study showed that people who smile more live longer than those who don’t. Smiling allows us to stay positive and remain happy- it’s the best way of living.
Smile !
“Everytime you smile at someone, it is an action of love, a gift to that person, a beautiful thing.” ~Mother Teresa
